Toronto label Greta Constantine has been named womenswear designer of the year at the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards.

The designer duo behind the brand, Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong, were among the trendsetters feted at a virtual gala Wednesday celebrating the fashion industry's top artists, influencers and business leaders.

Also among the winners were best menswear designer 3.Paradis, best accessory designer Mejuri and best outerwear brand Arc'teryx.

Toronto-raised designer Victoria Hayes and Quebec headwear line Fumile took home $10,000 apiece as the emerging talent winners in fashion and accessories respectively.

Sheertex won the Joe Fresh Fashion Innovation Award for the technology behind its tear-resistant tights, while Kent was awarded the Tricon Sustainability Award with its line of compostable underwear.

Previously announced honourees included Drake's OVO label with the vanguard award, Toronto-raised Tanya Taylor with the international Canadian designer award and model Maye Musk with the outstanding achievement award.

Other prizes handed out Wednesday included:

Simons fashion design student award: Pierre-Olivier Allard.

Image maker of the year: Greg Swales.

Stylist of the year: Corey Ng.

Fresh face of the year: Shayna McNeill.

Model of the year: Mae Lapres.

Fashion impact award: Lesley Hampton.

Digital fashion influencer of the year: Donté Colley.

Makeup artist of the year: Grace Lee.

Hair artist of the year: Steven Turpin.
