VERNON, B.C. - A 33-year-old Alberta man has been killed after falling off his motorcycle and being run over by a truck.
The incident happened near Vernon, B.C., in the North Okanagan region, about 400 kilometres northwest of Vancouver.
RCMP say the victim, a resident of the central Alberta community of Clandonald, northwest of Lloydminster, had pulled onto a Vernon area highway at about 6:30 Tuesday evening.
Investigators say the man was accelerating hard when he somehow fell off his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
A pickup truck, towing an RV, was just behind the victim and the truck driver had no chance to avoid hitting the man, who died later in hospital.
A cause of the accident is under investigation but Mounties say alcohol does not appear to have been a factor. (CKIZ)
