Extended winter operations this April at Sun Peaks Resort

SUN PEAKS - Not ready to stop skiing? Neither is Sun Peaks Resort! The winter alpine ski season is being extended by one full week to Sunday, April 12. Originally scheduled to close Monday, April 6, this will allow for extended Easter holiday skiing and riding and for Sun Peaks’ guests and locals to enjoy excellent spring snow conditions that the resort is known for.

“In addition to allowing guests to book longer Easter stays, our new terrain on the north east aspect of Tod Mountain provides some of the best and latest spring skiing in the area,” says Aidan Kelly, director of sales and marketing for Sun Peaks Resort Corporation. “We are excited to be offering later season access to this and other key areas of Sun Peaks.”

Guests will be able to ski and ride Sun Peaks at the half day lift ticket rate from April 7 to 12. Four lifts will be turning (Sundance, Elevation, Crystal and Platter), opening access to approximately 2,000 acres of Sun Peaks’ trails and ski areas including Gil’s, Crystal Bowl, the front side of Mt. Tod, Sundance Mountain and the Rockstar Energy Terrain Park.

“We are well known for great spring snow and hope to take advantage of this to offer late season ski race training similar to our record setting pre-season race training experience,” says Kelly. “In addition, Washington residents are enjoying the best U.S. dollar exchange rate in five years so this announcement will provide many of them the opportunity to book a spring skiing holiday in Sun Peaks, perhaps for the second time this winter.”

Tod Mountain Days Spring Festival will continue as scheduled for April 4 and 5. This high energy celebration includes some of the wildest events of the season and is a great way to enjoy the Easter long weekend. For more information go to www.SunPeaksResort.com/Tod-Mountain-Days.
