Expect more rain this weekend in Okanagan; drier in Kamloops

While it's expected to be a sunny day today in the Okanagan and Kamloops, it’s not forecast to last, especially in the Okanagan.

Environment Canada is forecasting a high today, Sept. 16, of 19 Celsius in Penticton but only 15 C in Vernon and Kelowna, despite the sunny skies.

There’s a 60 per cent chance of showers through the weekend in the Okanagan with highs of 16 C to 18 C. Overnight lows won’t be as low as recent nights where it snowed on the Okanagan Connector, dropping only few degrees to range from 9 C to 11 C.

At this point, next week is looking drier but still cloudy.

Kamloops is looking at a bit a different weather pattern with a forecast of mostly sunny skies today with a high of 18 C.

Friday has a 60% chance of showers but that drops to 30% Saturday with a mix of sun and clouds heading into next week.

The high is forecast at 19 C on Saturday but could get above 20 C by mid-week next week, with more sun visible than in the Okanagan.

Overnight lows bounce around from 8 C tonight, 13 C tomorrow night then 10 C going forward.
