Contestants participating in a gruelling 580-kilometre adventure race will be making their way through the North Okanagan today and tomorrow as four teams compete on foot, mountain bikes and in canoes using maps and compasses to navigate the Okanagan race course.

The Epic Adventure Race is organized by Hoodoo Adventures, a company based in Penticton. The total race takes place in the Okanagan valley over a span of four to six days. It got underway today, May 23.

The race involves trekking, trail running, mountain biking, kayaking and canoeing, orienteering and rappelling. Mixed, male, female, young and masters teams of four must navigate their way unsupported through an arduous 580 km course that is only revealed to them hours before.
