Washington state's first alpine coaster is almost ready
Washington state’s first alpine coaster is opening to the public in a week.
It’s part of the Leavenworth Adventure Park, which is about a three hour drive from the Osoyoos border crossing.
Sleds on the coaster can hold up to two passengers. Riders will be able to apply the brake for a slow and scenic experience overlooking the Wenatchee River Rapids and the town of Leavenworth – or they can release it and reach speeds up to 43 km/h.
The coaster will be over 820 metres long with 71 metres of veritable drop and three spiral helix circles.
Single rides will cost US$5 for kids, US$17 for youth and US$20 for adults.
The park opens for the season on June 1.
