The City of Enderby has advanced to the final four communities across the country with its NHL Kraft Hockeyville bid and is asking residents throughout the region for their votes.
The prize for the winner includes $250,000 toward arena upgrades, which is exactly what the Enderby needs since the arena has been closed since early January when the refrigeration system failed.
The Enderby arena is home to minor, adult and senior hockey, public skating, fitness programs and other activities. The curling rink, which shares the refrigeration plant, also shut down.
If Enderby wins the bid it will put the money toward arena repairs.
The winning community will also receive $10,000 worth of hockey equipment for youth.
The voting for the winning community begins at 6 a.m. on Friday, March 29, and ends at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 30. You can vote as many times as you like during that 32 hour period.
