NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C. - Mounties in two British Columbia detachments are investigating separate cases involving three workers accused of stealing a total of nearly $1.2 million from two businesses.
North Vancouver RCMP say Burnaby residents Arthur Wong and wife, Jessie, are charged with theft over $5,000, while Arthur is also charged with fraud.
Police say about $360,000 allegedly disappeared from North Vancouver-based Unique Real Estate Accommodations Inc., between 2007 and 2009 while Arthur Wong was financial controller and his wife worked as an accounting assistant.
In an unrelated investigation, a 51-year-old Fort St. John woman faces similar counts of fraud and theft related to the alleged embezzling of $800,000 from her employer in that northeastern B.C. city.
Fort St. John RCMP say the thefts from the unnamed business allegedly occurred over four years from 2009 to 2012.
Debra Diane McCauley has been ordered to appear before a judge on January 15th. (MooseFM, The Canadian Press)
