Elton Rohn, who calls himself North America's premier Elton John tribute, is taking the big sunglasses and piano to several stages in Kamloops and the Okanagan next month.
Ron Camilleri has played hundreds of shows across North America as his alter-ego, Elton John, and is set to perform in Kamloops, Kelowna, and Vernon in September.
"This is as close to a real Elton John performance as anyone will get," an Elton Rohn media release says. "Get ready to sing and groove to all the chart-topping hits live."
Camilleri says he combines the look, feel and sound of a real Elton John show, and everyone on stage performs live with no backing tracks.
According to the release, Davey Johnstone, Elton John’s musical director, called Elton Rohn "the best Elton tribute show in the world."
The real Elton John announced his final tour early this year and is scheduled to play two nights in Vancouver in October with tickets starting at $330.
Elton Rohn, however, is substantially easier on the wallet and involves a lot less travel, with tickets costing from $35 to $55.
Elton Rohn will play Sagebrush Theatre in Kamloops, Sept. 9, the Kelowna Community Theatre Sept. 10, and Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Sept. 11.
