THOMPSON-OKANAGAN - Changes are being recommended in many electoral areas across the province and this week you can get your say in on those changes at three meetings throughout the region.

The B.C. Electoral Boundaries Commission held public hearings in the fall and earlier this year a report outlining the recommended changes was released.

In the Kamloops region minor changes south of the city, mostly affecting the Knutsford area, were recommended while in Vernon changes would mostly impact the Swan Lake area.

In Kelowna a name change for the Westside-Kelowna district (to West Kelowna) is being recommended, but not changes to any actual boundaries.

The public hearings will be held in Kamloops on Wednesday, May 13, at the Coast Hotel at 10 a.m. and in Vernon at the Prestige Hotel at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. On Thursday a hearing will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Princeton at 11 a.m.
