KAMLOOPS – Three intoxicated kayakers were rescued after one of the men flipped his boat in the river in Kamloops.

The overturned kayak and some personal effects were found floating in the river at Riverside Park around 10 p.m. Friday and some citizens flagged down members of the RCMP bike patrol.

Turns out 3 drunk men had been paddling in the river downtown when they became separated.

One of men fell out of his kayak.

All three were found safe and sound with help from Kamloops firefighters and a police dog.

“Police would like to remind the public during this busy summer that consuming alcohol and boating can be very dangerous,” Sgt. Joe Morrissey says in a media release.
