PENTICTON - A two-week long investigation by the RCMP's Targeted Enforcement Unit in Penticton reaped rewards.
The team was expecting to find drugs at a Penticton residence following the execution of a search warrant on Nov. 22, which they found.
What they didn’t expect to find was a small arsenal of weapons that included two revolvers, a fully loaded semi-automatic .22 calibre assault rifle, a semi-automatic 9 mm handgun, a semi-automatic .38 handgun and a homemade-style shotgun, a cross bow and numerous rounds of ammunition, according to an RCMP media release.
Andrew Hardenstine, 38 and Crystal Olson, 40, were arrested and are facing several drug and weapons charges.
Police say Olsen was released on conditions following a Nov. 23 court appearance, while Hardenstine remains in custody pending a Nov. 28 appearance.
“Finding so many guns was a shock to us, but very happy to have them out of the hands of criminals," Cpl. Scott Van Every with the Targeted Enforcement Unit said in the release.
