Multiple Kamloops Fire Rescue units are working to extinguish a grass fire that broke out on the Tk'emlúps Reserve this morning.

KFR responded to the scene at 11:15 a.m. on April 7 off Chilcotin Road.

Platoon Capt. Shawn Davidson said access to the fire is restricted, and winds have made it more difficult to battle the blaze.

However, the B.C. Wildfire Service has been dispatched to the scene and "no buildings are threatened" at this time, Davidson said.

The size and cause of the grassfire are not known at this time.
