Crash that closed highway near Salmon Arm sent one to hospital

SALMON ARM - One person is in hospital after a two-vehicle crash closed the Trans Canada near Canoe on Friday.

RCMP says the collision between a commercial vehicle and a car occurred around 3 p.m., Feb. 19.

The driver of the eastbound car was taken to hospital with significant upper body injuries, according to a RCMP media release. The vehicle had sideswiped the tractor-trailer on Highway 1, hitting the wheels of the semi.

The driver and passenger of the tractor-trailer were not hurt, police say.
