COVID exposures at 15 schools in Interior Health including 7 in Okanagan, Kamloops

Interior Health, along with the rest of the province, started posting COVID-19 school exposures today and already there are 15 on the Interior Health list.

Exposures are cases where someone has been in the school with COVID and may have exposed others.

These postings were done on health authority websites last school year but provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry dropped them for this school year, saying such postings were too alarming.

She announced a change in her approach during a news briefing today, Sept. 28, explaining that only notifying parents if there were clusters of cases or outbreaks wasn’t meeting their needs.
