Three people have died during the COVID-19 outbreak at the Spring Valley Seniors Community long-term care home in Kelowna.

The outbreak was declared on April 28 after one resident and one staff member tested positive.

As of today, May 6, there are 32 cases in the facility, including 22 residents and 10 staff, according to an Interior Health news release. Interior Health doesn’t say whether those who died were staff or residents.

The long-term care facility is operated by Park Place Seniors Living with 150 publicly-funded long-term care beds.

Spring Valley is one of three outbreaks currently in Kelowna.

The Sandalwood Retirement Resort independent living facility in Kelowna has 28 cases including 26 staff. One person has died.

There is also a COVID-19 outbreak at the Orchard Haven long-term care in Keremeos with two cases, one resident and one staff.
