The most recent COVID-19 outbreak at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops has been declared over by Interior Health.
Unit 6 South, a surgical unit at the hospital, has fully reopened for admissions, according to an Interior Health media release issued today, July 16.
Interior Health said 10 patients had tested positive for the virus. No staff members tested positive.
The outbreak was announced on June 30 and at that time seven patients had been infected.
The health authority had said a team of infection control and communicable disease specialists, along with hospital staff were “meeting daily to ensure all measures are being taken to prevent transmission of the virus.”
