Interior Health is reporting that 46 cases of COVID-19 are now associated with a community cluster in Revelstoke and the surrounding area.

Of that total, there are currently 32 active cases, and many of the new cases are associated with previously confirmed cases, according to an Interior Health Authority media release issued today, Dec. 1.

An exposure event related to this cluster has been identified at École de Glacier Elementary, Nov. 23, and public health is following up with any close contacts. Students who have not been contacted directly by public health can continue to go to school.

Interior Health first reported the cluster Nov. 26, which at the time totalled 22 new cases identified over the previous 14 days.

The announcement today came with a reminder to limit non-essential travel.

Interior Health urges the public to stay within their own communities, only skiing at their local ski hill and not getting together in groups after skiing. Carpooling is also not recommended at this time.

The cluster is being monitored for additional cases.
