Central Okanagan Search and Rescue saved six side-by-side riders from a gully near Peachland last night.

The riders were in the hills above Peachland when they got stuck in a ditch on Feb. 18, according to a release from COSAR.

The riders tried to get themselves out of the ditch for hours, but eventually had to call 911.

The stranded group had some medical concerns which made the response more urgent.

All six riders were safely transferred from the ditch by snowmobile, and then transferred to COSAR’s side-by-side to be brought to the staging area on Brenda Mines Road.

This was search and rescue’s fifth task in the last nine days, and the 18th of 2024.
