OKANAGAN - The last long weekend of the summer is upon us but Mother Nature doesn’t seem to be ready to join the celebration this year.
For the most part September kicked off with temperatures just below seasonal normals of 22 Celsius and the Labour Day long weekend will be much the same.
Environment Canada is calling for weekend temperatures in the 18 C to 20 C range throughout the Okanagan. While there is a change of rain, along with a risk of thunderstorms, today, Sept. 4, the rest of the weekend will be a mix of sun and clouds.
Overnight low temperatures will be below seasonal normals of 10 C as well, with temperatures expected to dip as low as 5 C at the Kelowna Airport weather station.
Students will head back to school Tuesday to a high of 19 C and mix of sun and cloud.
