Cooler weather sticking around for Kamloops long weekend

KAMLOOPS - The last long weekend of the summer is upon us but Mother Nature doesn’t seem to be ready to join the celebration this year.

For the most part September kicked off with temperatures just below seasonal normals of 24 Celsius and the Labour Day long weekend will be much the same.

Environment Canada is calling for weekend temperatures in the 20 C to 22 C range in Kamloops. While there is a change of rain, along with a risk of thunderstorms today, Sept. 4, the rest of the weekend will be a mix of sun and clouds.

Overnight low temperatures will be below seasonal normals of 10 C as well, with temperatures expected to dip as low as 6 C Saturday night.

Students will head back to school Tuesday to a high of 20 C and mix of sun and cloud.
