This past weekend’s heat is forecast to be a distant memory by the end of today in Kamloops and the Okanagan.
After hitting 35.6 Celsius yesterday, July 16, in Kamloops the high is expected to be only 24 C today with a 60% chance of showers this afternoon along with a chance of thunderstorms and some smoke, according to the Environment Canada.
In Kelowna, Sunday’s high was 35.5 C but today is expected to be about 10 C cooler with a mix of sun and cloud and a 30% chance of showers.
Vernon also had a high of 35.5 C yesterday but is only expected to get to 23 C today with a 60% chance of showers this afternoon with a risk of thunderstorms.
Penticton reached 35.2 C yesterday with an expected high of 26 C today and mainly sunny.

Kamloops and the Okanagan are forecast to be sunny on Tuesday but still relatively cool with temperatures reaching 28 C in Kamloops and 26 C in the Okanagan.
It’s expected to heat up to the mid to high 30’s C for the rest of the week, peaking on Friday, under sunny skies.
Highs are forecast to reach 37 C in Kamloops on Friday and 36 C on the Okanagan before dropping to about three degrees next weekend.
