KAMLOOPS - People looking to get out and enjoy the long weekend can expect slightly cooler temperatures for Canada Day this year.
According to Environment Canada, a high of 32 Celsius is expected today, June 30, slightly above the seasonal normal of 27 C.
The good news for campers, boaters and floaters is that temperatures should be hot, but comfortable, all weekend.
For those planning to take part in outdoor celebrations on Canada Day, expect to see temperatures hit 29 C, a touch cooler than last year, when a high of 30.2 C was recorded on July 1. Looking to the rest of the weekend, Saturday, July 2, is expected to reach a high of 31 C, followed by a high of 28 C on Sunday, July 3. These temperatures are also a slight drop from 2015's toasty tempuratures, with a high of 35 C recorded on July 2 and 34 C on July 3.
Along with the warm temperatures we can expect to see a mix of sun and cloud in the sky most of the weekend, with full sun expected on Sunday.
