Police are asking for the public’s help to find a man who threatened a youth with a gun in Kamloops.
Kamloops RCMP were called about a youth who had been threatened with a gun around 4 p.m. on Dec. 28, according to a press release from police.
“Upon receiving the report, officers attended and surveyed the area, obtained statements, and canvassed for video,” Kamloops RCMP media liaison Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release. “We are turning to the public in an attempt to obtain more security or dash camera footage, witnesses, and information that could help further the investigation.”
The incident was reported to police later in the day around 7 p.m.
The youth was walking on a trail near Capilano Drive when they came across a man sitting on a log. The man produced a gun, threatened the youth with it, and then chased them onto the road.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male with a brown moustache and beard. The man was wearing all black including a toque, medical mask and a fanny pack.
Police have not received any similar reports since.
