Clear and frosty Halloween in the forecast for Kamloops, Okanagan

While there is no rain or snow in this year's Halloween forecast, it looks like it will be a frosty evening for trick or treaters in Kamloops and the Okanagan.

Costumes for those going door to door looking for treats may need a coat and a toque with clear skies expected to bring an extra chill to nighttime temperatures.

An arctic front that arrived in the region yesterday, Oct. 28, brought record-setting cold but temperatures are expected to moderate as the week progresses.

The forecast for Halloween calls for a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 7 Celsius for Kamloops, with overnight lows expected to drop to -2 C under clear skies.

For Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton, Halloween should also be clear and cool with a daytime high of 6 C dropping to -4 C overnight.

Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says there’s not much chance of Halloween snow.
