KAMLOOPS - It may only be June but it is time to start planning for Christmas, Cirque du Soleil is returning to the city for seven performances during the week of Christmas.

Kamloops will be one of the final stops for Dralion, which has been performed in more than 150 cities around the world over the past 15 years. Performances of the signature production will take place at the Interior Savings Centre from Dec. 24-28

More than 11 million people have seen the Cirque du Soleil classic show, featuring two key figures — the dragon and the lion. Dralion fuses ancient Chinese acrobatic arts with the ‘multidisciplinary approach of Cirque du Soleil'  and is based on the quest for balance between humans and nature.

Cirque Club members can purchase presale tickets online now and starting on June 20 tickets will be available to the general public.

Cirque was last in Kamloops in August 2012 with eight performances of Quidam. The company began in 1984 as a group of street performers and now employes more than 1,300 performing artists.
