Chase police searching for reckless SUV driver

CHASE – Police are looking for the driver who caused a crash on Squilax-Anglemont Road last week.

On Monday Dec. 12, a road maintenance truck was travelling westbound in Lee Creek when a red Ford SUV passed it on a corner, Sgt. Gary Heebner says in a media release.

Heebner says the driver of an oncoming Chevrolet Cavalier had to brake hard to prevent a head-on crash with the SUV. This forced the Cavalier into a spin, hitting the maintenance truck.

The driver of the Cavalier suffered minor injuries. Police say roads were slippery at the time of the crash.

Police are asking anyone with knowledge of this crash or the identity of the driver of the red Ford SUV to call the Chase detachment at 250-679-3221 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
