KAMLOOPS - The driver of a car that crashed on the Trans Canada Highway near the Peterson Creek Bridge in Kamloops late last night escaped with minor injuries.
RCMP say the small white car was totally engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived at the scene of the crash in the westbound lanes of Highway 1 at about 11:50 p.m., Jan. 10.
Kamloops Fire Rescue put the fire out while B.C. Ambulance paramedics treated the driver, the only person in the car. He was taken to Royal Inland Hospital with minor injuries.
The highway was closed for a short period of time while the fire was put out, police say.
Police are asking witnesses to the crash to call the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
