Canucks Young Stars Classic weekend in Penticton

The Vancouver Canucks Young Stars Classic will be held in Penticton at the South Okanagan Events Centre starting this Friday, Sept. 16, 2016.

PENTICTON - It’s Vancouver Canucks Young Stars Classic weekend in Penticton.

The 2016 hockey tournament takes place Friday, Sept. 16 through Monday, Sept. 19, featuring notable prospects from the Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames and Winnipeg Jets, according to a media release.

Spectators will have one of the first opportunities to see Olli Juolevi, Troy Stetcher and Jordan Subban in Vancouver Canucks uniforms as they square off against such promising prospects as Calgary Flames' Matthew Tkachuk, and Dillon Dube, Edmonton Oilers' Jesse Puljujarvi, and Tyler Benson, and Winnipeg Jets' Kyle Conner and Brendan Lemieux, the release states.

There will be a Minor Hockey Day on Sunday Sept. 18, including a Party on the Plaza family friendly event with games, music and prizes.

The tournament schedule is as follows:

  • Game one, Calgary vs Winnipeg, Sept. 16 at 4 p.m.
  • Game two,  Vancouver vs Edmonton, Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Game three, Calgary vs. Edmonton, Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Game four, Vancouver vs. Winnipeg, Sept18 at 2 p.m.
  • Game five, Edmonton vs. Winnipeg, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m.
  • Game six, Vancouver vs Calgary, Sept. 19 at 3 p.m.
