THOMPSON-OKANAGAN - RCMP is asking for help from the public to find a former Prince George man wanted for committing sexual offences in B.C. more than 20 years ago.
Former Prince George resident Rupert William Burr, 55, is the subject of a Canada-wide arrest warrant, Cpl. Craig Douglass says in a media release.
Douglass says Burr has been wanted in B.C. since 1998 for offences that occurred in 1993.
In 1994, Burr was described as a white male, standing 6'0" tall, weighing approximately 221 lbs., with green eyes and brown hair. Burr has scars on his left wrist and on the bridge of his nose.
Police did not include a photo of Burr in the media release.
"Burr was born in Alberta in 1961 and he may have lived in Worsley, Alta. as recently as 2015. Burr knows he is wanted and might be using a fake name," Douglass says in the release.
If you have any information about Rupert William Burr or where he might be, please contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca, or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES (274637) using keyword “pgtips”.
