CALGARY - Alberta's premier says she's not holding out hope that the federal NDP leader will change his tune on the oilsands.

Alison Redford says she expects she'll continue to hear Tom Mulcair speak out against the industry throughout the rest of her term.

Mulcair has said economic strength in Alberta, fuelled by the oilsands, is jacking up the dollar and hurting manufacturers elsewhere in the country.

Mulcair is to visit Calgary later this week, one of many politicians to descend on Cowtown during the Stampede.

Redford says no meeting has been planned so far and her calendar is crammed with Stampede events.

She made her remarks at her Stampede breakfast, where she served up pancakes to guests and did a little two-stepping to a medley of Shania Twain songs.
