The Latest: Amber Alert baby found safe, father arrested

LOS ANGELES - The Latest on an abducted baby being found safe (all times local):

2:30 p.m.

A 2-month-old boy suspected of being kidnapped by his father has been found safe in Central California and the man is under arrest.

KCBS-TV reports that the boy, Jefferson Gomes, and his father, Jeffrey Gomes, were found shortly before noon Saturday in the Bakersfield area, about 90 miles northwest of Los Angeles.

Details of the arrest weren't immediately released.

An Amber Alert was issued Friday after Gomes allegedly took his son following some kind of domestic violence incident in the Fort Tejon area, also northwest of L.A.

Authorities said he was driving a pickup with a 28-foot trailer and was considered armed and dangerous.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says a 2-month-old boy allegedly kidnapped by his father has been found safe and the man is under arrest.

He was considered armed and dangerous.

A truck matching the description was reported near Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday morning.

Authorities say the man was later arrested in California and the boy found safe but details haven't been released.
