MONTREAL - A consortium led by Bombardier Transportation has won a US$4.1-billion contract from the State of Queensland in Australia.

The group will supply 75 electric passenger trains, a new depot and maintenance for 30 years.

Bombardier (TSX:BBD.B) says its share of the New Generation Rollingstock project is worth about US$2.7 billion.

The project will renew a transportation system that serves southeastern Queensland, which includes the city of Brisbane.
