KELOWNA – Recent heavy rainfall has made water from Mill Creek unsuitable for drinking.
The Glenmore-Ellison Improvement District is asking some residents in the Ellison area to boil their water until further notice.
It only affects properties getting their water from Mill Creek, not those serviced from Okanagan Lake such as Country Rhodes Strata or Country View Estates Strata, according to a boil water notice issued by the Kelowna Joint Water Committee.
Water intended for drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice, or brushing teeth should be boiled for one minute. Boiled water should then be refrigerated in a clean, covered container.
