Search teams find two bodies in lake in Vernon, B.C. provincial park

VERNON, B.C. - Mounties are investigating after two bodies were found in Kalamalka Lake, south of Vernon, B.C.

RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk says a resident walking in Kalamalka Provincial Park first noticed a cooler floating in the water in Cosens Bay, within Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park.

The resident then saw a second cooler on shore as well as a dog floating in the water, and called the police.

Molendyk says police and a search and rescue crew arrived on scene and recovered two bodies from the water.

Searchers also found an overturned aluminum boat.

RCMP isn't releasing any details about the victims at this time, and no missing persons reports have been filed. (CHNL, CKIZ)
