McBride resident Tammy Manning won’t forget March 19. It was the day she won $13,000,000 playing the Lotto Max.

Manning purchased the ticket from McBride Husky/Esso in a $20 Lotto Max pack, selecting her numbers with the Quick Pick option, according to a B.C. Lottery Corporation media release. Her ticket was the only one in Canada to match all seven numbers for the mid-March draw.

Manning had to have Husky retailer Amber Bhaskar check the ticket.

“All I said was ’No!’ I just didn’t believe it and kept saying ’No!’ to myself,” Manning said in a media release.

“When Tammy validated her ticket… she was about to fall down. She’s a loyal customer since we moved here - it’s really happy to see somebody winning from the local town,” Bhaskar said in the release.

Manning, who is getting the draw date tattooed onto her arm by her tattoo artist son, said she will pay off her house and maybe buy a property in the Caribbean, along with a sailboat. She also plans to gift some money to her family.

“It feels so good that I’m able to help and do something good with it. This will change my life and it means I can retire and can help those close to me,” she said.
