An autopsy has confirmed that missing person Jo-Anne Donovan was the victim of homicide.

According to the Kamloops RCMP, 57-year-old Jo-Anne Donovan was reported missing after she was last seen March 13. Her body was discovered March 22.

"Sadly, the autopsy results verified what investigators initially suspected, that Jo-Anne Donovan was the victim of homicide," Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Dave Marshall said in a media release issued today, March 28. "As our investigation continues, so too does our appeal for more information from the public to help us timeline Jo-Anne’s last movements and determine exactly what transpired."

Police said Donovan was known to frequent the North Shore and Brocklehurst areas of Kamloops and often went for walks around McArthur Island Park, the Kamloops Airport and Tranquille Farms.

RCMP are appealing for witnesses who may have seen Donovan or her grey Chevrolet Impala around March 13 – the date she is believed to have gone missing.

"Police are also seeking to speak with anyone who recently spoke with Jo-Anne or visited her residence, who has not already been contacted by investigators," Cpl. Marshall said.

An extensive forensic search of Donovan's residence and vehicle have and continue to be conducted.

No other information will be provided to protect the integrity of the investigation, RCMP said.

Anyone with information is urged to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
