Kamloops RCMP say a 57-year-old woman's body was found near her home nine days after her disappearance.

Jo-Anne Donovan was first reported missing earlier this month but it's now a homicide investigation after her body was found on Wednesday, March 22.

Police already searched her Westsyde home "extensively" but they'll remain at the scene until the autopsy is completed on March 28, according to an RCMP news release.

She was last seen March 13 and police are looking for any other witnesses who saw her or her Chevrolet Impala around that time. Police didn't say where she was last seen alive, but did say she's known to walk the McArthur Island Park, Kamloops airport and Tranquille Farm areas frequently.

She was also frequently in the North Shore and Brocklehurst areas, RCMP said.

"Any information regarding observations of Jo-Anne or her vehicle will assist police in developing the timeline for the investigation," this morning's news release reads.

Investigators are also looking for anyone who recently spoke with Donavan or visited her home.

Police first notified the public Donovan was missing on March 17, then issued photos of her vehicle parked a garage in hopes of creating a timeline before her disappearance.

She drove a grey 2011 Chevrolet Impala with a license plate number of MK8 77W.
