Arrests made, drugs seized in RCMP raid at Vernon home

Police arrested three people and seized both cash and drugs after a search warrant was executed at a Vernon home on Wednesday.

As part of an ongoing investigation that began in January, RCMP searched the residence on April 28 to find "significant" amounts of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl, according to an RCMP news release.

They arrested a 24-year-old man, a 27-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman in the search.

"Targeting beyond the street level dealer is an important step toward impacting drug trafficking groups and contributing to the Vernon RCMP priority of enhancing public safety," Sgt. David Evans of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP’s targeted policing unit said.

This investigation stemmed from arrests on Jan. 22, when a 44-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were arrested for suspected involvement with a drug trafficking operation.

The three suspected arrested on Wednesday have been released.

Police will forward any recommendations of charges to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada after the investigation.
