An anti-vaxxer who allegedly assaulted a counter-protestor in Vernon last fall now has a warrant out for his arrest.
Kelsey Tomas Mitchell Moffatt, born 1970, failed to show up for a court appearance Feb. 15 and yesterday, Feb. 23, a B.C. Provincial Court judge issued a warrant for his arrest.
In October, the 53-year-old was charged with assault causing bodily harm for an alleged attack on COVID-19 counter-protester Korry Zepik a few days early.
Zepik previously told iNFOnews.ca that he was slammed into the pavement and punched several times by an anti-mandate protester.
He was left badly bruised by the attack and was taken to hospital. He received X-rays and a CT scan and got the all-clear from doctors.
The anti-COVID protestors had been a regular fixture at the Polson Park fountain waving signs that read "The pandemic is a lie" and "The vaccine is a bioweapon" among many other slogans.
In the spring of 2022, Zepik joined the protesters with his own counter-protest.

"There’s a destructive narrative being put out at Polson Park and I need to counter that," he told iNFOnews.ca in July 2022.
One of his signs read, "This rally lacks logic."
Moffatt was supposed to turn up to court Feb. 15 to set a date for his trial, however, he did not attend and now has a warrant for his arrest.
