ARMSTRONG – RCMP are on the hunt for a suspect following an armed robbery at a North Okanagan convenience story early yesterday morning.

Police says a woman with a black and silver handgun held-up the clerk at the 7-Eleven in the Petro Canada gas station on Smith Drive in Armstrong around 3:32 a.m., April 15. The woman demanded the money in the cash register.

The suspect got away with some cash and the clerk wasn’t hurt, according to a RCMP media release.

Officers contained the area until the police service dog from Vernon arrived and despite a search no sign of the woman was found, police say.

Investigators think the suspect got away in a vehicle.

Police are looking for a woman in her 20s, about 5’5” tall, with a thin build and blonde hair. She was wearing a black hoodie pulled up over her head and possibly jeans.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact the Armstrong RCMP at 250-546-3028 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-(TIPS)-8477.
