Amnesty International Okanagan is inviting the public to write to activists around the world who have been imprisoned for peacefully protesting.
“We will be writing letters to activists in Bangladesh, Cameroon, Cuba, France, Hong Kong, Iran, Morocco, Paraguay, Russia and Zimbabwe,” reads a Facebook post for 'Write For Rights.'
Members of the public can also bring electronic devices if they prefer to send virtual messages.
Paper, pens, stamps and envelopes, as well as refreshments, will be provided at three locations today, Dec. 11.
In Vernon it's happening at Trinity United Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and then at the Vernon Library from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
In Kelowna it takes place at the Central Okanagan United Church from 2 to 4 p.m.
