An episode of The Amazing Race Canada filmed in Kelowna and Vernon will be on TV tonight.

The fifth episode of the current season will air on CTV this evening, Aug. 9. The episode will also be available on CTV.ca and the company's app.

The episode, I'm a Human Kite was filmed on location in Kelowna and Vernon earlier this year.

The show's producers are keeping the details of what takes place purposely vague, but do say the teams will "take their fears to great heights and set their sights on a new target."

As the episode is called I'm a Human Kite and the crews were seen filming at Kelowna airport it appears the contestants will likely be involved in a challenge related to flying.

What is for sure is that one challenge, filmed at Vernon's Davison Orchard involves pie making.

Davison Orchards Country Village family member Tamra Davison confirmed earlier this year that crews had filmed at the popular tourist destination.

While her lips were sealed, she said the challenge involved making pies and that her daughter-in-law, Rachel, got to be the final judge.

The Amazing Race Canada had been scheduled to film at the orchard for several years, but the pandemic had prevented it from happening.

The show, now in its eighth season, is hosted by former Olympic gold medalist Jon Montgomery. Davison described the host as a "larger than life" personality.

The Amazing Race Canada has filmed in the southern Interior several times in the past including Kamloops and Kelowna.

Kelowna was featured in the first ever episode of The Amazing Race Canada in 2013.
