An episode of The Amazing Race Canada filmed in Kelowna and Vernon will be on TV Aug. 9.

Episode five of the eighth season of the Amazing Race Canada will air on CTV at 9 p.m. and also be available on CTV.ca and the company's app.

In the episode, "I'm a Human Kite" the teams will take their "fears to great heights and set their sights on a new target," says a media release from the show's producers.

The details of the Aug. 9 episode are being kept a secret, but the film crew did stop by Vernon's Davison Orchard earlier this spring to compete in a challenge which involved making pies.

One of the Davison family got to be the judge of the competition and taste the final offerings the contestants baked up.

It's unclear what the teams had to do in Kelowna for their challenge, but judging by the title of the episode "I'm a Human Kite," and the sighting of the contestants at Kelowna Airport, it's likely to involve flying.
