PENTICTON - The nomination period for this year’s municipal election has ended and the ballot is going to be crowded for this year’s Penticton municipal elections.
The race for mayor became a six-way contest, late this week when James Blake, Dominic Wheeler and marijuana dispensary owner/former mayor candidate Jukka Laurio added their names to the list, which also includes incumbent Mayor Andrew Jakubeit, Penticton businessman Jason Cox, and former councillor John Vassilaki.
A total of 26 candidates have put their names forward to run for a seat as one of six city councillors.
