Some lucky individual who purchased a winning lottery ticket in Penticton has yet to check their numbers, or is biding their time before collecting.

British Columbia Lottery Corporation spokesperson Matt Lee says no one has come forward as yet to claim the $500,000 Maxmillions prize won on a ticket purchased somewhere in Penticton for the Jan. 7, 2020, draw.

“Somebody’s got a half million out there, for sure. They may or may not know about it, but at this point no one has come in to claim it,” Lee says.

Last Tuesday's Lotto Max prize totalling $70,000,000 was won on a ticket purchased in Brampton, Ontario, while Merritt, B.C. couple Mitch and Florence Wilkinson also won $500,000 in the draw.

The Lotto Max and Extra draws take place on Tuesday and Friday nights.
