Anybody spending the day in the Shuswap or North Thompson can expect up to 40 millimetres of heavy rain to start the week.
"A significant and slow-moving low pressure system developing over central Alberta will spread rain into eastern British Columbia," according to a special weather statement from Environment Canada. "Light rain will begin Monday before becoming heavier on Tuesday."
The pressure system will be impacting the eastern regions of B.C.'s Interior. The highest amounts of rain are expected to fall near the mountains, particularly east-facing slopes.
The heavy rain could lead to flooding and debris flow.
