    The Chamber, in partnership with KPMG, announced the Rising Star Award winners as it celebrated the 2016 KPMG Top Twenty under 40 Award winners on Thursday Night.  David Hamm who owns and operates Coldstream Mechanical was one of three recognized with the Rising Star Award.  He began working in the trades in 2007 and eventually started his own business in Coldstream Mechanical in 2015 and has been steadily growing ever since.

Responsibilities include tracking the number of tickets sold during shifts, handling monies, documenting sales, and reporting to the fundraising coordinator. Volunteers should have good communication and numeracy skills. Event day is Sun. Sept. 20. 19+ to volunteer.

  • Discharge coming from the Sandher Fruit Packer plant. Fruit packers near Kelowna fined another $78,000
    A fruit packing plant in the Ellison area east of Kelowna was hit with another $78,368 in fines for discharging effluent into a failed septic field. That’s now more than $110,000 in fines since 2022 for the same issue at Sandher Fruit
