Western Canada Theatre
VW Turtle River Race Ticket Seller - Volunteers are needed to help Western Canada Theatre raise funds by selling raffle tickets for our 14th Annual VW Turtle River Race. Responsibilities include tracking the number of tickets sold during shifts, handling monies, documenting sales, and reporting to the fundraising coordinator. Volunteers should have good communication and numeracy skills. Event day is Sun. Sept. 20. 19+ to volunteer. 250-372-3216 Ext: 36.

AIMFoundation
Event Volunteers - The AIMFoundation is looking for volunteers to help out with the Walk/Run Career Mentorship event on Sept. 27.  Volunteer positions: registration/info table, race crew, first aid station, and post-race volunteers. CIBC Run for the Cure Organizing Committee - Be part of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure organizing committee and a dynamic team raising funds towards breast cancer research in your local community from Mar. to Nov. 2015 (Event takes place on Sun. Interior Community Services
Outdoor Maintenance Volunteers - The volunteers will assist with minor outdoor maintenance of residential and program properties such as painting, weeding, and maintenance of fences, sheds, and yards. 18+ to volunteer. 250-554-3134.

Kamloops Arts Council
Marketing and Membership Committee - Help the KAC continue to grow their brand recognition and spread the word about their ongoing events and programs by joining their marketing and membership committee. Previous marketing and/or promotional experience is an asset. 18+ to volunteer. 250-372-7323.

YMCA/YWCA
YMCA Youth Basketball League Team Coaches - The volunteers will coach kids aged 7-12 in weekly practices, and help to supervise Sunday games at different locations throughout the city. This is a non-competitive league that is meant to foster growth through sport. The coaches should be patient, understanding, and be a positive role model for all the participants. 16+ to volunteer. 250-376-4771.

The Gleaning Abundance Project
Harvest Volunteers - The Gleaning Abundance Project are looking for individual and group volunteers to help harvest excess fruit from residential trees. The volunteers will share in the harvest with the other shares going to the homeowners and various non-profits. 13+ to volunteer, and family volunteering friendly. Harvest season is June to November, 7 days a week, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. 250-851-6111.

Salvation Army - Thrift Store
Thrift Store Volunteers - Volunteers are needed for sorting, pricing, setting up displays, hanging clothes, organizing clothing racks, greeting customers and helping with their purchases. Schedules are set up in a way that works best for the volunteer and the agency. 16+ to volunteer. 250-376-1110.

Canadian Mental Health Association - Kamloops
Hairdressing Volunteers - The volunteers will be cutting hair for individuals with long term mental illnesses. This is part of a program for building self-esteem. One volunteer needed during the day and one needed for the evening at the CMHA Clubhouse, 857 Seymour Street. 19+ to volunteer. 250-374-0440.

Oncore Seniors Society
Good Morning Program Caller - Volunteers will call seniors as a daily check on their well-being and as a friendly call each day from their homes. Volunteers make the calls between 9:00a.m and 11:00a.m., Monday through Friday, according to the client's preferences. If the client is unable to be reached, then an emergency contact person, arranged in advance, or a staff member will be called to check on the well-being of the client, and emergency steps taken if necessary. 17+ to volunteer. 250-828-0600.

John Howard Society
Community Support Volunteers - Volunteers will work alongside the Community Support Workers to support men and women in life skills development and positive activities to enhance their quality of life and socialization. The clients are adults of all ages who are reintegrating into our community while on parole. Volunteers will be matched based on their experience, interests, and ability to work with the specific type of client. Brocklehurst Gemstone Care Centre
Recreational Volunteers - Brocklehurst Gemstone Care Centre is looking for volunteers to help with  many different programs including: games (bingo, Jeopardy, board games, crib, and other card games), scrapbooking, music nights, entertainers, 1-to-1 visits, X-BOX, manicures, church services, bocce ball, gardening programs, walking/exercise programs, and intergeneration programs. 16+ to volunteer & family volunteering friendly. 778-470-2596 Ext: 109.

Ponderosa Lodge
Medical Appointment Volunteers - This is great experience for those thinking of getting into the health care field. The volunteers will accompany residents on the Handidart to medical appointments such as orthopaedic shoe fittings, dentists, doctors, denturists, optometrists, etc. The volunteers must be able to physically push a wheelchair. 16+ to volunteer. 250-374-5671 Ext: 4410.

Kamloops Immigrant Services
ESL Tutor - Volunteers will help a newcomer/immigrant in Canada learn and or improve basic English skills, speaking, reading, writing, etc. 19+ to volunteer. 778-470-6101.

Wildlife Park
Gardening Assistant - The Volunteers will be responsible to keep the park beautiful by helping to maintain our many gardens. The volunteers will be pulling weeds, planting, raking, etc. The volunteers must be physically fit. 14+ to volunteer. 250-573-3242 Ext: 226.
