  • Bollywood Bang returns to support NONA Child Development Centre

    VERNON - Bollywood Bang first came to life in the Okanagan in 2013. Since its inception the event has surpassed all expectations and become one of the most anticipated events of the year, selling out in just 6 hours last year. This East meets West concept has the ability to bring people together and celebrate diversity all the while raising money for a different local charities. Both Men and Women have the opportunity to dress up in South Asian outfits and enjoy an experience like no other.
  • Third Annual We Heart Local Awards highlights BC's food and agriculture favourites

    VANCOUVER - The BC Agriculture Council and We Heart Local will launch the third annual We Heart Local Awards next week. This people's choice Awards, which runs from August 17th to September 14th, highlights the most popular food and agriculture businesses and organizations across the province.
  • Compost Bin Pre-Sale and Free Rain Barrel Workshops

    Working with a series of business and municipal partners, the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen invites residents to pre-purchase compost bins and attend free workshops on composting and rainwater harvesting across the RDOS.

    Residents can pre-purchase compost bins or Green Cones from participating locations from March 1 to 23. Pre-purchased bins will then be available for collection by April 22, Earth Day.
